Hello Seals, New Group Practice Schedule took effect on Monday 12 September. Welcome back and we are looking forward to another fun and exciting swim season. We will start practice on Monday 22 Aug and I have attached the practice schedule and temporary groups. This will be the schedule for the first three weeks of the season. The dynamics of the groups will change after we have try outs in early September and once the coaches have had a chance to see all the swimmers and match them up to their proper groups. Returning swimmers will start in the same groups that they ended last fall/winter season in. For those that only swam in the spring season your schedule was a different format, so please see the groups attachment and if your name is missing, please let me know as soon as possible. Caroline Rombaut, Caroline Ross, and Madelyn Coon, please see the groups attachment for your selected group. Side note: If you are receiving this message and have left the SHAPE Seals team, please let me know so that we can remove you from the mailing list. Thank you and if you have any questions, please let myself or John know. David Westrick |

There is an article at Stars and Stripes about the EFSL Champs 2011 results. I have extracted the results of the SHAPE swimmers here (apologize if I missed anybody). Also there is another article about the meet where some SHAPE swimmers are mentioned as well.

Dear Parents/swimmers I would like to say how much I am proud of our Team. I would like to say thank you to all the parents for supporting the Team in whatever situation, because I can understand that it is not easy go back and forth travelling around Europe especially if you have more children. Then I would like to say thank to all the coaches for the great job we did in a complete harmony and especially for the trust you all put in me from the beginning. The way we share opinions and thoughts has gone only in one direction: make our team stronger and our swimmers outstanding. The way we received compliments from other team coaches, made us so grateful. The main merit is of course of our swimmers, but I have to say that this time the difference was made not from our top swimmers, but from all the swimmers, because our team level was so high that everyone was always in first line as a leader during his event, while, all the other team mates, were supporting him/her, showing other teams our great Team Spirit. I would like to spend a word to the swimmers that didn’t get any medal. I will not say names, but I have clear in my mind their outstanding performances. To most of them I asked to swim some difficult events and no one failed showing his/her determination. Sometime a medal is a combination about number of swimmers in the same age group, but if you take a 7th place (no medal) on 15 swimmers is more important than a 3rd place (with medal) on 3 swimmers…. The target was a team result and we got it. It is a team result, it means everybody contributed to achieve it. Everybody has to be proud at the same level. We are DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONS 2010/2011 and we won away that is more difficult than hosting the competition. Go Shape Seals!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Head Coach Fabio LEONI |
